1．K値とは （けーち）
平板載荷試験により求める地盤の支持力係数。K値が高いほど強度のある土ということになる。
2．コンソリとは （こんそり）
コンソリデーショングラウト（consolidation grout）の略称。支持力増加と透水係数減少のためダム基礎部におこなうグラウト。
3．圧密係数とは （あつみつけいすう）
圧密理論に用いられる係数、土の体積変化の速さに関する物理定数を含んでいる。
4．曲げ強度とは （まげきょうど）
（flexural strength）供試体が耐えうる最大曲げモーメントを、供試体の断面係数で除した値。
5．均等係数とは （きんとうけいすう）
土の粒度分布を数値的に示す一方法で、60％通過径と10％通過径との比をいう。
6．合理式とは （ごうりしき）
物部式やラショナル式とも呼ばれる、洪水流量を求める簡便な式で、流域の小さな中小河川では広く一般的に使われているが、大河川（直轄河川）はで貯留関数法により流量を計算している例が多い。
Q=1/3.6×f×r×Aで求めることができ、Q=流量、f=流出係数、r=時間雨量強度、A=流域面積である。
7．粗度係数とは （そどけいすう）
河川が流れるときに河床や河岸などが抵抗する度合いを表す係数。一般に、表面に凹凸がある方が、粗度係数が高くなり、流速が遅く、流量は小さくなる。
8．断面係数とは （だんめんけいすう）
ある図心軸に関する断面二次モーメントを、その軸から断面の最も遠い点までの距離で割った値。
9．等価換算係数とは （とうかかんざんけいすう）
舗装を構成するある層の厚さ1cm当りが、表層・基層用加熱アスファルト混合物の何cmに相当するかを示す値。
10．労働損失日数とは （ろうどうそんしつにっすう）
強度率を算出する際に用いる係数で、労働災害により失われた日数を評価したもの。休業のみの場合は、休業日数×300／365で表し、死亡や障害が残った場合は等級により損失日数が定められている。
11．等流とは （とうりゅう）
断面変化のない、乱れの全くない流れの状態。自然界には存在しないが、計算が簡単なので、ちょっとした計算にはこれを使用する。
計算式は以下のマニング式（manning）による。
V=1/n×R^(2/3)×I^(1/2)
・nは粗度係数（河川の計画では0.030とか0.035を用いた例が多い）
・Rは径深（面積÷潤辺）
・Iはエネルギー勾配（厳密には違うが河床勾配を使う）
12．バケット係数とは （ばけっとけいすう）
ショベル系掘削機の作業能力を検討するときに必要な係数。
土質、切土深さ、切土高さなどにより作業のしやすさが異なるため、作業計画を立てるときは「道路土工」などを参考に係数を設定する。
建設機械によっても異なるが、普通土で0.60～1.00、粘性土で0.45～0.75といった値である。山盛になりやすいもの、かさばらず空隙の少ないもの、掘削の容易なものなどは、作業効率が良いため、大きい係数を与える。
13．透水係数とは （とうすいけいすう）
土中の水の流れやすさを示すもので、値が大きいほど水が流れやすいことを示す。
14．河状係数とは （かじょうけいすう）
河川における1年間の最大流量と最小流量の比のことを指す
15．透水係数とは （とうすいけいすう）
飽和時の透水係数を「飽和透水係数」
不飽和時の透水係数を「不飽和透水係数」
という。
16．材料係数とは （ざいりょうけいすう）
供試体と構造物中との材料特性の差異、材料特性が限界状態に及ぼす景況、材料特性の経時変位などを考慮するための係数
17．安定係数とは （あんていけいすう）
(stability factor) 斜面の安定性の解析に用いられる係数。土の粘着力を c、有効単位重量を γ、斜面の臨界高さを Hc で表したとき、安定係数 Ns は、
Ns = γ Hc / c
で与えられる。この逆数を安定数と呼ぶこともある。
18．部材係数とは （ぶざいけいすう）
部材耐力の計算の不確実性、部材寸法のばらつきの影響、部材の重要度、すなわち対象とする部材がある限界状態に達した時に構造全体に与える影響等を考慮したもの。
19．等価換算係数とは （とうかかんざんけいすう）
